Come and learn about BC's Waiting Teens! Over 400 youth in BC foster care are waiting for an adoptive family. Presentation includes AFABC video "Teen Adoption: You Have a Choice" and facilitation by two adoptive parents of teens.

Topics include:

Who are the teens?
Why do they come into care?
What are their special placement needs?
What is the adoption process?
What kind of families do teens need?


Event Details:
Cost: Free session
Arrival: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for this event.  
Access: Ring the doorbell and we will buzz you in. This workshop is not wheelchair accessible, but alternative arrangements can be made in advance. Please notify us in advance if required.
Audience: All prospective adoptive parents interested in teen adoption. This session is for adults only please.

AFABC is a non-profit organization that provides province-wide support services and information to people who are beginning to think about adoption, people who have decided to adopt, and those who have already had a child or children join their family. AFABC also plays a significant role in promoting awareness and recruiting families for the close to 1000 children waiting in foster care for an adoptive family.

AFABC was started around a kitchen table in 1977 by a small group of adoptive parents who needed to share ideas, information, and support.
